Finally we have the arrival of one third of the group “Dirty Money”, Dawn Richard’s “A tell tale heart”. The mixtape was just made available earlier today at midnight. It’s certainly not a disappointment if you’ve been anticipating this album and was impressed by any of the snippets released, Dawn delivers! Think Chris Brown’s Transform ‘ya when you hear the first song after the intro “Superman”. Some standouts are the breezy, “Runway” and “Hey”. They both have catchy hooks and really great vibes. The melodic Let “Let love in” is quite reminiscent of Brandy in its styling and layered harmonies. She’s definitely taken a few notes. There a couple of really heartfelt moments “Me, myself and ‘Y and “These tears” that has something for those yearning substance.
The sensual “Vibrate” provides a glimpse into a sexy side of Dawn. It’s a great variety of music and Richard’s score’s big on this album. This should further convince her fans (as well as those that haven’t become one yet), that she’s more than just some girl that fits in a band. She’s a real artist! B+
