Sometimes..
After a week in the States, I felt homesick. I missed so many things I had back in Malaysia. I just wished that I could travel between space and be at both places whenever I wish.
Even though the people here are friendly, lecturers are helpful, new friends care for me, and everyone has a good smile on their faces; I can't help but feel empty.
This is the first time having this feeling. Everyday I long to see emails from Malaysia. Those writings keep me attached to the world that I originated. Those words kept me reminded of those lovely faces that I was so closed with just last 2 weeks.
I always tell Jasmine, be strong, and nothing's so big deal about leaving your country. And now, I can't find a reason for myself to stop drowning in nostalgia.
Maybe the excitement is over and things are getting settled down. I'm just too free now to feel down, hate myself.
OK, this is an emo post. Sorry for it.
But, these are the feelings kept deep down. I think I'm good in hiding them when necessary. I always wanted to be a bright person.
Wanna keep myself occupied. Or else, I will be thinking too much.
But, I have nothing to do now. Laptop screwed up, sent to service center, they told me it takes 3 weeks to repair. Can't imagine my life without my laptop. Gonna rent a laptop from library tomorrow. Currently using the PC at school.
Life's cool, but I am not.
Till then. Good luck in life. =)
When the sun goes down...
SCSU is so active at Night!
There's just so many activities going on after the sky goes dark (some even before it does). Today was the 2nd football game of the season. Most of the Huskies fans were there to support our own team. Against the Vikings, from Augustina, we seemed to be a bit vulnerable.
However, this is my very first witness of football game, live at the Stadium!
So I dragged Jasmine along and we walked to the school stadium that is located not too far away from our dorm. After hearing a lot of complaints from Jasmine, since she's not willingly attending this event, we reached the stadium, found our friends and...let the photos speak for themselves.
The stadium is filled with fans from both teams. We sat at the wrong corner actually, but there were no more space at the huskies'.
I stopped by the Husky Sports Band as well.
Some desperate girls, for photos.
Half time, my time.
Guess what, there's another big event on at the other side of the campus. Sweat, a concert that is filled with students as well. Many were dancing like crazy, free Disco huh? And it's still on till now at this time I blog, I can hear Lady Gaga's Poker Face from here. The singers are not bad!
These were just the appetizers, the actual Atwood After Dark event kicks off tomorrow! Woohoo! I think I have to choose which activities to attend and which not, or else I won't be making time for studies and revisions anymore, lol.
Feeling like school, again.
Since classes commenced, assignments are getting on their way! It is kinda different here as the lecturers expect the students to do their own preparations before hand. Whole lot of readings waiting to be completed!
Classes are short though, 50mins to 2 hours max. Lecturers are friendly bunch of people. Classes really start and END on time. Even if it exceeded just a little, the students will just pack and leave, how pathetic for the lecturers. Now I think M'sian students are slightly more polite, in a sense. =)
Just another thing that I hate (or, not used to it) is the long distance between classrooms. Classrooms are located at different buildings. I think I'll have to run in between classes to get to the next class on time.
Well, these are all new experiences. I'm kinda love (ok, just like) this country already.
Classes for Fall 09
Saturday: A trip with the locals
So off we went to the Mall of America, the biggest shopping mall in the whole of United States. Located at Minneapolis, just an hour drive from our campus, St. Cloud.
Similar to Times Square KL, there is a theme park in the mall. They called it "playground".
We looked around for Asian food as most of us craved for it. And there is it, Thai Kitchen.
Jasmine and friends.
Our tour guides, Huy and Cam. They are dating couples. Cam is a graduate student in SCSU, Mass Comm while Huy works in the city, Minneapolis. Huy has the citizenship for both Vietnam and the U.S.
Me clearing the table after meal, something that I've never done at M'sia restaurants.
We shopped till 5plus after being kinda satisfied with our goods and then we visited the other city in the Twin Cities, St. Paul. Huy brought us to the St. Paul Capital. It is the administrative building for the State Governors.
The beautiful structure. It looks like the White House to me. Huy said that the gold on the statues are real gold.

Look, Asian rice! And roasted ducks.
Wrong demo, don't imitate. Never worship rice even when necessary.
Ciao!
Over ther first night
Hmm..Besides the tiring part, everything else are okay to me. Accommodation wise, my roommate hasn't moved in yet, so I've got the whole room for my own, now. One thing I hate is the toilet, really old and non-privacy friendly. The toilet is shared at the same floor. The shower screens can just be pulled easily. And the toilet bowl, argh, let's drop this.
Let the photos rewind the memories.
At Changi Airport
It's almost 2a.m. now but I have nothing to do but wait for my next transition, at 0710. Counter to check in will only open at 4am. So, since it may be once in a life time, I am blogging using the public PC service at Changi Airport, Singapore!
It's not nice flyign alone! I definitely hope somebody was here to travel with me, but I think God let me fly alone for a reason.
Everything is arranged, by God.
So, ya, since I can only use the internet service here for another 10mins, I've gotta end here. Will update everyone when I'm settled down.
Cheers everyone!

Getting ready to fly
I am starting to pack.
Even though I still haven't gotten my visa in hand yet, I believe that God is doing His work within the people who are running the procedures.
Have been shopping and purchasing stuffs that I need when I'm in the States. Also, managed to caught a movie with my parents and siblings before I leave.
2 years don't seem long, it's neither short too. I believe things may change by the time I return. I am definitely going to miss 1st KL a lot. The place that had given me a space to grow and to groom myself. The place where I met true friends. Most importantly, the place where I can serve in ministering to the youth and kids.
I can't wait to meet new faces in the University and adapting to the new environment. I've never been to the States, but I know what it is like to be out of mother country, I've travelled to Hong Kong and China numerous years back. Like what I said, stepping out from your Comfort Zone.
OK, still, there's whole lot of stuff to be done, just packing.
Cheers!
Now gotta wait again
Went for the VISA interview this morning, about 8am.
The waiting was quite long after the security inspection and fingerprinting. However, the interview session was rather short, less than 5 mins I think.
They have seen all my documents and stuff, and the VISA is approved.
The bad news is, they need time to process it, God knows how long.
Please continue to pray for me that I will be able to receive my VISA before 14th Aug 09.
Received
Appointment for VISA interview is made on this Thursday, 6th Aug.
Please, please pray for me that the VISA process time is short, so that I can obtain my VISA before 14th Aug.
I believe that God's hand is on this matter. I'm putting my trust in Him and Him alone. Also, really appreciate all friends' prayers and support!
Will update soon.
Till then, cheers.
