1st KL Outing & 3rd KL EnA

1st KL Company Outing
1st KL in action! And this time we conquered Batu Caves!

0923: Let's go!!

0931: Erm..can I take lift??

0932: 1..2..3..OMG..

0933: A family photo

0935: M O N K E Y..

0938: We have reached the top! Before entering the cave..

0946: Nice shapes..
Due to our safety and our properties' safety purposes, we are not allowed to bring any phones or cameras into the cave (luckily we never brought in any..). So, I didnt manage to snap any photos of us in the cave or during the caving.

1606: After wash up, on the way back to the bus.
Overall, the caving/outing was great. It was my secong experience in caving (the previous one was at Tekam, Pahang). This time round it as a moist/wet cave compared to the dry one in Pahang. The holes very rather smaller and I have to lay my whole body on the wet mud in order to get through the holes. Thus, whole company was very dirty after the journey. We did a quick wash up at the toilet there and called it a day.
3rd KL E n A
After the Outing, I quickly went and met up with SaiHong at Hang Tuah Monorail station. We were going to YMCA to witness our brother company--3rd KL's 51st Enrolment Service and Awards Day. Due to the coy outing earier, we were actually late for the function. KarHoe joined us later at 6pm.

The band plays. Conductor: WO Darryn Chiew

The whole company.
We dindnt manage to snay much because we were seated quite far at the back. 3rd KL had done pretty well by having 3 president's men and 1 founder's man. Well done 3rd KL and may you all continue to Shine Like Stars (this year's theme)!

Snap! Left to right:
KarHoe (1st KL), SaiHong (1st KL), Me (1st KL), 1st PJ Ssgt (Founder's man), Darryn (3rd KL, Founder's man), Sgt and Ssgt from 1st PJ
We had good fellowship and we enjoy meeting members from the other companies too!
After a long long day of activities, I was exhausted, but the memories shall always be cherished. =)

MIS 101 Showcase

One of my Intro to Computers Application's courseworks is to conduct a showcase based on the functions of the Internet. After a period of preparation of about half a month, the showcase was finally conducted by all the students in MIS 101 class, on the 18th of July. There were about 30 groups presenting their best in that day in order to gain the max marks possible from the lecturer (the marks will be added into Finals).

The showcase started at 10am. All booths were set up at about 9am. Musics started to blast at 1030am. Food and Freebies were everywhere.

Our booth. Introducing the "Functions of Internet in the Government", both Malaysia and The States. Group members : Me, Leonard, Kristy and Sandra.

The girls. Girls in Black and White.

Me & Ivan. After a tiring day.

The First and the Last Voyage

Today, the English Composition class’ presentation group had presented a very meaningful topic. It was entitled Titanic.

At that moment, I had a feeling as if I was brought back to my years of 6 to 7 years old. I remembered that I watched this film when I was at that age. It was nothing really special to me at that age, until the later years when I started to dig into books and resources that are related to this movie, or rather, the incident.

I believe that everyone knows about the story. The main characters, Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt, the giant and gorgeous ship, the two thousands passengers, the grand architectures of the ship and the boundless crystal blue sea are no stranger to us. The story tells about the love and romance between these two different social class adults, Jack and Rose. Everything was laid wonderfully like a sweet fairy tale, from the beginning of how the spark of love lid between these two person, till the tragic incident that had separated these lovers and put this romantic story to an end.

The Titanic ship was the one that has caught me. Titanic, which had meant as the Unsinkable Ship, was concluded in the year 1909. The cost of the construction was over U$D 200 million. It has 256M in length and 11 storey’s height. Can you imagine such a huge building sailing on the sea? The surprising part was that it only took 3 years to be constructed. This British ship had her first voyage on the 10th April 1912.

The beauty of the story, or I should say, the real incident, can be viewed from the literature’s aspect. First, I’ve found social class discrimination. Back in those time, there are basically 3 different social classes—the lower class, the middle class and the upper class status. This discrimination can be seen when the gate guards locked all the lower class people at the bottom of the ship during the sinking of Titanic (It DID happened in real). The guards did so in order to save more life boats for the upper class people. Second, it was the gentlemen manners. It was really shocking to see that all men were asked to stay behind and let the children & ladies to move to the life boats first. All men were thoroughly “gentleman” enough to put the youngsters and ladies first. Compared to the time now, do the manners still matter? Finally, salute to the Captain and the Band on the Titanic. I really respect Captain Edward J. Smith for his courage and (I do not know what words to use). He stands with the Ship until the last second when the Ship had finally sunk. The Captain died together with Titanic. Same goes to the band that had played their every last note until the Ship dies. Bear in mind, the love story is just a fiction. And of course, the diamond, “The Heart of Ocean” was only made for the fiction purpose.

On 14th April 1912, the Titanic collides with the Iceberg and sinks on the 15th April 1912, 2:20 am. 705 were survived out of 2228 passengers and crews. The Ship finally rest in the deep sea of North Atlantic till today, resulting in this unsinkable ship its first and last voyage.

If I have the chance, I wish I could watch this Film again.

11:00

I am losing sleep nowadays. Always stay up till late night and wake up early in the morning. Coffee and sandwishes are great breakfast. 2nd Semester is coming to its end. Assignments are due this week. Finals in 2 weeks' time.

The timetable for the 3rd Semester is out, had just signed up 6 subjects for the next long sem. I have just realized that if I continue to take so many subjects per sem, I will be finishing the 40 subjects and graduating in 2 more years.

Many items are lining up in my to-do list:
-Show case project on 18th
-Final exams starting from 22nd
-BB Company Outing on 26th
-SLC Camp on 28th to 30th

I realized I'm learning to make priorities in my daily routine. Since Form 2, BB has always be the top1 on my list. Even during major examinations like the PMR and SPM, BB activities has never failed to be the prio.

I love BB. But the current condition in the BB has really pulled me down. I donot know what had happened. I have failed to be a good leader. Members are dropping out, leaders are slacking. I have done my part, but I have not done my best. I really appreciate Sai Hong and Kar Hoe, the 2 supportive friends in the BB. But, the fire is cooling down. I have lost the passion that I've used to have.

Capt Cheong was right, if you do not have a goal in the BB, you will soon find yourself left out. I do have goals, but something is proving to me that there are more important goals to achieve in my life. Week in week out, I am repeating to myself, that I have to go BB. I fear the feeling when it comes to Thursday or Friday nights, the feeling that the inner voice telling me that I have to go BB again. I hate this feeling. I have been telling Boys to attend BB parades, but I myself is not motivated to do so. I really hope that this will not be the example to the younger ones.

No doubts, BB is a great organisation. Without BB, I will not be who I am today. I pray that God will have His way in me. I cannot change myself with the little strength that I have. I believe God will have His way in me. I do hope I will leave a legend in BB.

The BB Object: "The Advancement of Christ's Kingdom..."

The feeling now is better, compared to 48 minutes ago.

A Saturday with "the" kids

Kids! The B'day boys.

"Blow from there!!"

"Phew..I've tried my best..."

The busiest time.

"Give me?" Thank you!

Wakaka...Pre-Juniors in action! (Drill time)

The Senior section did not have Parade last Saturday. Hence, the 3-big-and-nothing-to-do-boys were asked to JAGA the kids in the Junior section. It was also SSGT Benedict's first day in the Junior section!
It was my 3rd time helping in the Junior section. Well, I would say, it is "easy" and "not so easy" too. Kids are always kids. It was indeed fun to play with them, even though sometimes it is Geram when they ignore you (they treat you like a transperant object). Haha..
Anyway, it was a good experience. Cheers, Juniors!
