Christian Fellowship Camp '09

Yeah! Back from El Sanctuary, Malacca for our college's CF Camp! It was my second camp since I started college. It was really fun! Even though the amount of participants was small - may be it is God's will - the camp was really blessed by the presence of God and His Holy Spirit. Praise to the Lord!

It was a combined event and I've got to know so many new friends from SEGi Kota Damansara. They are really a bunch of great people! KDs, you guys rock! Well done to the SJ CF Committee too for making this camp a success.

It was not an ordinary camp. All the activities bond us together and we became good friends real fast, especially the guys, ahem. The games was fun, the sermons were interesting and attractive, the praise and worship was spiritual and I believe everyone is really blessed. The last program of the camp was a 'jalan-jalan' at the Malacca's Jonker Street. We enjoyed the Cendol there and also many stuff that are really cheap compared to KL here.

The Camp was memorable. I pray that it will be held annually. And I know that God will definitely bless us with it!

Case Closed, also known as Detective Conan, Meitantei Konan, is a Japanese detective manga and anime series written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama and serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday since 1994. The name "Case Closed" for the English language release results from concerns of copyright conflict with the Conan the Barbarian franchise. The story follows the adventures of Jimmy Kudo, a prodigious young detective who was inadvertently transformed into a seven-year-old.

Case Closed was adapted into an anime series by the animation studio Tokyo Movie Shinsha, directed by Kenji Kodama and Taiichiro Yamamoto, and is broadcast in Japan on Nippon Television, Yomiuri TV and Animax. The first episode aired on January 8, 1996, with 520 episodes as of December 15, 2008. The series has seen high levels of popularity in both manga and anime formats in Japan since its reception, and has also been adapted into 12 Golden Week movies, with the first released on April 17, 1997, and one movie released each year since. Ten of the movies held a top 10 box office position in the year they were screened. In addition, nine OVAs have been released.

Shinichi Kudou is a high-school student who is famous for helping the police solve crimes. His almost girlfriend, Ran Mouri, is the captain of the karate club. Ran’s father, Kogoro Mouri, is a detective and blames Shin’ichi for his lack of business. One night while Shin’ichi follows someone suspicious in the amusement park Tropical Land, he is given poison by a man in black which was supposed to kill him, but instead shrinks him to the of a six year old. Under the suggestion of Professor Agasa, he keeps his identity a secret from everyone until he can change back, going under the name Conan Edogawa based from mystery writers Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Ranpo Edogawa.

CAMPaholic

Biology Showcase had just ended last Monday and everything turned out to be fine. At least most of the students - including myself - got to check our own health status.

I love camps, I simply love camps. It's been quite some time since I last camped with the Boys in BB. Last 2 Saturdays, I was asked to stay over-night in the Band Camp as "an officer" just to oversee the Boys so that everything is in order. I hesitated a little because I do not have holidays like most of the school dudes do. However, I agreed to stay in one night.

It was only a 24 hours stay for me, all in all. I felt different this time round. I do not feel the burden that I used to have when I was an NCO. May be that's because the NCOs had been well prepared. I worked more with the Recruits in the camp: helped Daniel in teaching them basic band drill, teach Target award class, teman them for games and more games. As for the Seniors side, I only did marched past with them.

When I look at these newbies in the camp, I saw myself 6 years ago, when I first attended the Boot Camp. I shared with the Recruits on my experience in Boot Camp. I remembered CPL Chan Kian Wing was the camp commandant, I remembered Addison was the one sleeping beside me during Boot Camp, I remembered which corner I slept, I remembered one of my friends got caught with a BB Gun, I remembered I asked my seniors why do we need to polish our uniform parts again since we had polished it last week, I remembered Mr. Liew Hoi Kiet was the Recruitment officer, I remembered that he also helped me to cut the hole on my field service cap, I remembered another friend of mine cried after the "night drill" torture, I remembered...

Just too many. Just too memorable.

I am definitely looking forward to more camps that are on the list.

The Joker has been portrayed by Cesar Romero in the Batman TV series, Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's Batman, and Heath Ledger in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Dragon Ball Evolution Pictures

Dragon Ball Evolution is a 2009 American live-action film adaptation of the Dragon Ball media franchise being produced by 20th Century Fox. The story centers around the adventures of the lead character, Goku, from his childhood into adulthood. The film began development in 2002, and is directed by James Wong and produced by Stephen Chow. It was released on March 13, 2009 in Japan and Hong Kong, and is scheduled for release on April 8, 2009 in United Kingdom and United States of America. Justin Chatwin was cast as Goku, and James Marsters portrays Lord Piccolo, the antagonist of the film.
Goku (Justin Chatwin) goes on a journey to find Master Roshi (Chow Yun-Fat) and gather the seven mystical Dragon Balls before the evil Lord Piccolo (James Marsters) can. Along his way, he meets Bulma (Emmy Rossum) who then joins him to help him in his mission. When arriving at Roshi's place, he is not welcomed with an embrace but has to fight Roshi. Roshi soon learns that Goku is the grandson of Gohan (Randall Duk Kim) and thus trains him to prepare him for the ultimate battle with Lord Piccolo to prevent him from collecting the powerful Dragon Balls.

Dragon Ball, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. It was originally serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1984 through 1995, and later the 519 individual chapters were published into 42 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha. Inspired by the Chinese folk novel Journey to the West, it follows the adventures of Son Goku from his childhood through middle age as he trains in martial arts and explores the world in search of the seven mystical objects known as the Dragon Balls, which are known to grant any wish. Along his trip, Goku meets several friends and fights against several villains who plan to get the Dragon Balls to grant their wishes and some who aim to conquer the world.

The 42 tankōbon have been adapted into three anime series produced by Toei Animation: Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. Additionally, Toei has developed seventeen animated feature films and three television specials. Several companies have developed various types of merchanising such as a collectible trading card game, and a large number of video games. The series is licensed for an English language release in North America by Viz Media, in the United Kingdom by Gollancz Manga, and in Australia and New Zealand by Chuang Yi. Several companies have dubbed and aired the three anime series in North America. In China, it was produced a live-action film adaptation in 1989. In 2002, 20th Century Fox began production on the first American-made live-action film which is slated for release on April 8, 2009.

Since its release, Dragon Ball has become one of the most popular manga series of its time in both Japan and North America. It enjoys a high readership, with over 150 million volumes of the series sold by 2007. Several manga artists have noted that the manga series was the inspiration for their own now popular works, including Naruto and One Piece. The anime is also highly popular, ranking number 12 among the best anime series of all time in 2006. Reviewers praise the art, characterization, and humor of the manga story. The anime series have had more mixed reviews, with the first also praised for its characterizations, but the second was criticized for its long, repetitive fights, and the third series considered repetitive with childish fights and "goofy" character designs.
